Loud Feelings Ideas > Business Class
My professors lecture never seems to end However, I can’t stop thinking about Loud Feelings. While being on the road for a billion jillion hours driving back home, I started thinking about this musiczine. Maybe…just maybe…we can turn this zine into an actual magazine, as well. This leads to my next thought. I think it’d be awesome if this musiczine/magazine be directed towards college students. I mean, of course this would be starting off… I feel as if most college students are at that age where they either listen to extremely shitty music or really great music. Thus, Loud Feelings could be the aide to the lost listeners and a best friend to the already great listeners. However, for issuing a magazine..problems arise. Loud Feelings centers around music AND film. It’s not possible for someone to watch a film by staring at a magazine (hence why we were leaning more towards the musiczine). Also, we were going to have at least two songs from each musician/band we cover as free downloads. We can’t do that with a magazine either. I kept on driving and driving…Conor Oberst started playing while I was driving…At The Bottom of Everything started playing…I started singing a long…God, this music is such a beautiful sound. That’s when the light bulb clicked: We can connect a CD and a DVD disk to the magazine. Nothing fancy or designed, but a cd full of all the people we covered and a dvd for the interview and/or their acoustic performance + more. The next step that has to be done is getting in contact with a lot of schools around the states and country. Since we are not asking for money from the readers or musicians, we are doing this out of our very own (empty) pockets. We want to make a deal with schools that let us send them X number of copies and they just have them at the Cafe/Library or wherever that students can access them for free. I really want Loud Feelings to escalade. I see so much hope and potential for this project. I am considering making this available to high schools, as well. I mean, in high school, I wish I had this sort of musiczine/magazine that gave me the chance to discover some of the most amazing musicians worldwide. My professor is still lecturing about Hawthorne studies or something. I feel her eyes stare at me. I need to learn how to type softer on this keyboard. The typing is getting louder and I still have a good 20 minutes left of class. This must be my cue to stop typing. As more ideas arise, I’ll be sure to jot them down. Cheers! -Krista De La Rosa
